Rita Sum, DPTRita graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Touro College School of Health Sciences in 2015. She entered the field driven by her passion to motivate others.

She has pursued further training by achieving certification for Manual Physical Therapy (CMPT) through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy ( NAIOMT). She has taken a multitude of continuing education courses to enhance assessment and treatment techniques.

Rita has also engaged in an extensive year long training in Pilates apparatus and is now a certified Polestar Pilates Rehab Practitioner. She strongly believes in the power to heal through movement. Incorporating Pilates concepts into physical therapy greatly enhances patients’ healing progression. Her two favorite Pilates apparatuses are the Reformer and the Chair.

Outside of the PT world, Rita has ran her first half marathon at the Brooklyn Half. Rita’s interests include playing volleyball, practicing Pilates, and hiking.
