Amy earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York University, and also holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Southern Methodist University. After dancing professionally with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and in twelve Broadway shows, where she was privileged to be a three time recipient of the Legacy Robe, she retired from performing to pursue a career in physical therapy.

As a professional dancer for over 20 years, Amy brings a diverse background in movement to her practice as a physical therapist.

She has worked with a diverse population, specializing in dance medicine and orthopedics. During her time as a physical therapist, she has provided care to the Paul Taylor Dance Company, numerous Broadway shows, athletes and performing artists of all types.

Amy is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She is also currently pursuing certifications in Pilates based rehabilitation and exercise prescription with Polestar Pilates and Functional Foot Typing focused on restorative, preventive and performance enhancing upgrading of biomechanics “from the ground up” with Dennis Shavelson, DPM . She has taken numerous continuing education courses including functional soft tissue mobilization techniques, and is looking forward to taking more to enhance her manual skills. In treatment, Amy focuses on the entire body and movement patterns in order to guide her patient’s recovery and achieve their fullest potential.

Amy is an active member of International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, American Physical Therapy Association and Actor’s Equity Association.
